Since I first saw the Phantom of the Opera in 1962, I have always loved the Hammer Films. Obviously I didn't know I was watching a Hammer film back in '62, but I soon learned what a hammer film was. After Phantom it was Kiss of the Vampire and then Dracula, Prince of Darkness. I then began recognizing the actors in these films. Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing were my favorites. I always enjoyed seeing people like Michael Ripper and Barbara Schelley.
The music fro these films was another milestone in my young life. I loved the music of James Bernard. I am so happy that there are CDs with his music. Truthfully my favorite score of Bernard's is from Dracula Has Risen From the Grave. Only the end music was rerecorded by Silva Screen records back in 1989. The original tracks are lost, otherwise GDI would have relesed this along time ago. Anyway that is all for now. I have some pictures of me and James Bernard that were taken at the 1994 FANEX in Baltimore. I will post some soon.
More next time.
